They are catfish native to South America and are recognized for their peaceful nature and distinctive greenish coloration. Green Cories thrive in schools, prefer well-planted tanks, and are bottom dwellers, often seen scavenging for food. Ensure a clean tank with proper filtration for their well-being. 1. **Size:** They typically grow to around 2.5 to 3 inches (6-8 cm) in length. 2. **Behavior:** Green Cories are social and should be kept in groups of at least six to provide a comfortable environment. They are peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive fish. 3. **Tank Conditions:** Maintain a tank temperature between 72-79°F (22-26°C) and a pH level around 6.0-7.5. Provide hiding spots with plants, caves, or driftwood. 4. **Diet:** Omnivores by nature, they enjoy a diet of high-quality sinking pellets, flakes, and live or frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp. 5. **Breeding:** Breeding Green Cories in captivity is possible. They lay eggs on flat surfaces, and the parents do not guard the eggs. It's advisable to provide a separate breeding tank with suitable conditions.
